What Should I Do If My Part Has a Problem?
If you believe your engine, transmission, or another covered part has developed a problem, contact GearShift before removing, repairing, rebuilding, or disassembling the part.
Our team will guide you through the warranty process.
If your claim is approved, we will work with you to provide a replacement part or another appropriate resolution. If a suitable replacement is unavailable, a refund may be offered.
Step 1 – Contact Us
Call or email our team and provide:
- Order or invoice number
- Vehicle year, make, and model
- VIN, if available
- Current mileage
- Description of the problem
- Date the part was installed
Step 2 – Provide Documentation
Depending on the issue, we may request:
- Original purchase invoice

Providing complete information helps us review your claim faster.
Step 3 – Inspection
In some cases, we may need to inspect the part to determine the cause of the problem.
If a return or inspection is required, our team will provide instructions.
Please do not send a part back without contacting us first.
Step 4 – Resolution
If the claim is approved, GearShift may provide:
- A replacement part;
- An appropriate repair; or
- A refund of the original purchase price when a suitable replacement is unavailable.
The final resolution will depend on the circumstances of the claim and availability of a suitable replacement.
Important: Contact Us Before Repairs
If you believe a covered part has failed, please contact us before removing or repairing the part.
Removing, rebuilding, modifying, or disassembling a component without first contacting GearShift may make it difficult for us to determine the cause of the problem and may affect warranty eligibility.
We want to help, so please give our warranty team an opportunity to review the issue first.
What About Labor Costs?
Unless specifically stated on your invoice or in writing, our warranty covers the eligible part and does not cover:
- Installation labor
- Removal labor
- Diagnostic charges
- Towing
- Rental vehicles
- Replacement fluids
- Filters
- Related repairs
- Loss of income or business
- Other incidental expenses
We recommend confirming installation and related costs with your repair facility before beginning work.
Mileage Information
GearShift sells used engines, transmissions, and other automotive components rather than complete vehicles.
Because these components may have been removed from vehicles before being sold, exact historical odometer readings may not always be independently verified.
We make reasonable efforts to provide accurate mileage information based on available records and supplier information.
Any mileage information provided for a used component should be considered an estimate unless specifically documented otherwise.
GearShift does not support or participate in odometer tampering or mileage misrepresentation.
Warranty Is for the Original Purchaser
Warranty coverage applies to the original purchaser named on the applicable sales invoice unless otherwise agreed to in writing.
Please retain your original invoice or purchase documentation because it may be required when submitting a warranty claim.
Shipping Damage
If your part arrives damaged, please do not install it.
Instead:
- Take photographs of the package and the part.
- Keep the original packaging.
- Contact GearShift within 48 hours of delivery.
- Follow the instructions provided by our customer service team.
Shipping-related damage is handled according to our Shipping Policy and Return & Replacement Policy.
Returns Are Covered Separately
This Warranty Policy applies to eligible warranty claims after purchase.
For returns of unused or uninstalled parts, order cancellations, incorrect parts, and other return-related matters, please see our:
Return & Replacement Policy
Our separate Return & Replacement Policy explains eligibility, return authorization, shipping responsibility, restocking fees, refunds, and replacement procedures.
If your claim is approved, we will work with you to provide a replacement part or another appropriate resolution. If a suitable replacement is unavailable, a refund may be offered.
